Free CVC Words with Pictures
This is the picture library for every CVC word on the site — 228 images, one per word, each matched to the short vowel it teaches. Every picture is a plain, uncluttered illustration on a white background: no background detail to confuse a beginning reader, no words printed inside the image, and nothing that needs explaining before the child can name it.
Use them in four ways: name it (the child says the word from the picture), match it (picture to printed word), build it (three sound boxes under the picture), or sort it (which short vowel does this word use?). Because every picture is named after its word, a folder of downloads sorts itself alphabetically and by word family.

What size are the pictures?
Each picture is a 500×500 pixel JPG on a white background, which is large enough for a full-page worksheet and small enough to load quickly on a phone. They scale down cleanly for cards.
Can I use these pictures on a word wall?
Yes — that is what most teachers do with them. Print the word wall cards or the picture cards PDF, cut them out and pin them up with the word underneath.
